Ready to add some color to your life? There are plenty of feel-good colors in the 2010 color forecast, according to the industry professionals at Sherwin-Williams, the largest producer of paint in the U.S., and Sisler Johnston Interior Design.
The color trend for the coming year will feature a resurgence of bright, saturated colors, which have great emotional appeal according to Judith Sisler Johnston, president of Sisler Johnston Interior Design and ASID Allied Member. “Colors appeal to our emotions,” Sisler Johnston said. “Just a slight change in color can change our feelings and mood.”
The Sherwin-Williams colors for 2010 have been divided into four categories:
- Rooted: The colors are rich and earthy with African and Native American influences. Colors include amber, teal, red and gray.
- Simplified: The collection features sophisticated, subtle and versatile colors, including silvery whites, sparkling grays and a glowing buttery yellow.
- Treasured: The colors reflect the beauty of natural aging, mellowing and weathering over time, such as smoky blue, yellow, green and coral colors.
- Refreshed: Vibrant floral tones, bright juicy colors and unexpected color combinations highlight the collection. The colors include yellow-orange, green, coral, yellow, violet and blue.
