Former NBC News anchor Tom Brokaw opened The Florida Forum Speaker Series, produced by The Women’s Board of Wolfson Children’s Hospital. More than 1,000 people attended the program at the Times-Union Center for the Performing Arts and more than 350 people attended the post-event reception.

Future Florida Forum Speaker Series events include Theo Epstein on Jan. 16, 2018, and Caroline Kennedy on March 5, 2018.

Epstein, a baseball executive with the Chicago Cubs, became the youngest general manager in major league history in 2002 when the Boston Red Sox hired him at the age 28. Epstein became President of Baseball Operations for the Chicago Cubs in 2011.

Kennedy, an author, attorney, and diplomat who served as the U.S. Ambassador to Japan from 2013-17, is the only surviving child of President Kennedy. She is an editor of nine New York Times best-selling books on constitutional law, American history, politics and poetry.
