Bill Garrison is NEFBA’s New Executive Officer

The Northeast Florida Builders Association has announced Bill Garrison as its new executive officer.

Garrison is currently the executive director of the Clay County Economic Development Corporation. During his career, he has worked in the construction, housing and real estate industry. Garrison also has years of leadership experience with NEFBA’s Clay Builders Council, serving as Clay Builder Council Chair in 2007 and 2010. He was awarded the Clay Builder of the Year Award in 2010.

“We have worked with Bill for many years, and he has certainly proven himself a strong leader, not only in the Clay Builders Council, but also in the private sector,” said NEFBA President Lee Arsenault. “We consider ourselves very fortunate to find someone of Bill’s Caliber to step into the executive officer position. Corey Deal is a hard act to follow, but we believe Bill is up to the challenge.”

After graduating from Forrest High School and working in construction for a few months, Garrison served in the U.S. Navy. He graduated from the U.S. Naval Nuclear Power School and served aboard the U.S.S. Sunfish.

Upon his return home at the completion of his military service, Garrison went back into construction where he worked his way up from a carpenter to a project manager. That job led him into lumber sales with Manning Building Supplies before working for Sid Higginbotham, where he became a site agent and operations manager. He earned a degree from St. Johns River State College.

Garrison replaces Corey Deal, who was named executive director of the Greater Atlanta Homebuilders Association.
