July 14th, 2010 · Leave a Comment

Flagler announced that Comcast, the nation’s leading provider of entertainment, information and communication products and services, has opened its new Jacksonville headquarters at Deerwood North business park located at 4600 Touchton Road in Jacksonville.

In November 2009, Comcast of Greater Florida/Georgia signed an 11-year, $22 million lease with Flagler to occupy the 106,253-square-foot office space. The transaction represented the largest lease by dollar volume to have been completed in Jacksonville during 2009. Flagler’s Senior Director of Leasing, Ross Carrier, represented Flagler in the transaction and Binswanger Commercial Division President, David Fahey, represented the tenant.

Comcast leased the space for its headquarters on floors one, two, three and five at Deerwood North, which accounts for 80 percent of the space in the building. One of Flagler’s largest office parks in Jacksonville, Deerwood North is located in the city’s growing central business corridor and is comprised of four Class-A office buildings totaling nearly 500,000 rentable square feet.

The business park is home to numerous notable tenants including Arizona Chemical Company, Main Street America Group, Fidelity Investments, Carolina Casualty Insurance and IBM Corporation. The park is accessible from Interstate 95, Florida 9A, J. Turner Butler Boulevard, Southside Boulevard and is near the Tinseltown retail center and St. Johns Town Center.

Congratulations to Comcast and Flagler for making one of the largest deals in Jacksonville and keeping business strong throughout the First Coast!
