Florida Forum Series to Welcome Baseball’s Theo Epstein on Jan. 16

December 12th, 2017 · Leave a Comment

The Florida Forum Speaker Series, produced by The Women’s Board of Wolfson Children’s Hospital, will welcome baseball executive Theo Epstein on Jan. 16, 2018. The presentation will begin at 7 p.m. at the Times-Union Center for the Performing Arts.

Epstein, President of Baseball Operations for the Chicago Cubs, is credited as the mastermind behind the Chicago Cubs. In 2016, after five years of rebuilding, he took the team from last place in the National League Central and led the Chicago Cubs to their first World Series title in 108 years. Prior to that, Epstein was the General Manager for the Boston Red Sox, the youngest General Manager in Major League Baseball history. Epstein led the Red Sox to World Series victories in 2004, their first in 86 years, and again in 2007. Epstein and his twin brother, Paul, started a foundation which has raised $7.3 million to help disadvantaged youth in Boston and Chicago.

The 2017-2018 series concludes on March 5, 2018 with Ambassador Caroline Kennedy. Distinguished journalist Tom Brokaw opened the series in November.

Series subscriptions to The Florida Forum Speaker Series are now available for purchase. Subscriptions for the two remaining Forums start at $167 each for general seating; $200 each for preferred seating; $567 for two reserved Bronze seating tickets; $1,417 for two reserved Silver seating tickets and invitations to the Private Receptions honoring the speakers. Patrons under age 30 may purchase Young Subscriber tickets for $100 each.

Funds raised from The Florida Forum benefit Wolfson Children’s Hospital. The series is presented by Wells Fargo, Florida Blue and Landstar, and many valued supporters of The Women’s Board.  For more information and to purchase tickets, go to The Women’s Board website at https://womensboardwolfsonchildrenshospital.com.
