Girl Scouts of Gateway Council Celebrates Women Who Make a Difference – St. Augustine

Girl Scouts of Gateway Council recently recognized seven outstanding area women at its inaugural Women Who Make a Difference – St. Augustine ceremony and celebration. The inspiring fundraising event recognizes local women whose professional accomplishments and community service exemplify the values of Girl Scouting.

The 2017 Women Who Make a Difference – St. Augustine honorees are:

  • Julia Click, Flagler Hospital
  • Jessica L. Evans, Regions Bank
  • Teresa Meares, DGG Uniform and Work Apparel
  • Tania Schmidt-Alpers, Betty Griffin Center
  • Kelly Smith, Wells Fargo Community Bank, North Florida Region
  • Kelly Sullivan, Attorney
  • Pamela Way, St. Johns River Water Management District

“Girl Scouts of Gateway Council is pleased to recognize these extraordinary women who embody the traits of a G.I.R.L. (Go-getter, Innovator, Risk-taker, Leader)and who serve as role models for girls in their communities,” said CEO Mary Anne Jacobs. “Our honorees are inspiring today’s Girl Scouts to become tomorrow’s business and civic leaders.”

The event, co-chaired by Jan Lipsky and Sandi Zeljko, was held at the Casa Monica Hotel. Sponsors include Publix Super Markets Charities, Wells Fargo, Beaver Toyota, Flagler Hospital, and Kelly Sullivan, Esq.

Proceeds from the event support Girl Scouts of Gateway Council’s efforts to deliver the Girl Scout Leadership Experience to young women in North Florida.
