Herschel Vinyard Presents at NAIOP of Northeast Florida’s Quarterly Luncheon

November 4th, 2011 · Leave a Comment

Herschel Vinyard presented a compelling narrative about his vision for the Department of Environmental Protection at today’s NAIOP of Northeast Florida luncheon at the Omni in downtown Jacksonville. As Secretary of the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, Vinyard is focused on protecting the state’s natural resources while creating the best possible mechanisms for job creation. His top priorities include establishing permitting efficiencies, consolidating water policies to create a more effective, consistent development and management strategy, and maintaining the state’s legacy of an award-winning park system.

“It was an honor to have Secretary Vinyard here today to update our group on what is happening at the Department of Environmental Protection,” said Karl Hanson, 2011 Chapter President for NAIOP of Northeast Florida and Vice President of Asset Management Services at Flagler. “The insight and updates he provided will be helpful to our professionals in the commercial real estate industry.”

Prior to joining the Department of Environmental Protection, Vinyard was the director of business operations at BAE Systems Southeast Shipyards, the world’s second largest defense contractor. He also served on the boards of the Jacksonville Port Authority, the Jacksonville Regional Chamber of Commerce and the Manufacturers Association of Florida.
