Lifestyles Rental Services recently closed on the sale of Burbridge Realty Company for an undisclosed amount, as reported in the Florida Times-Union and Jacksonville Business Journal.

Burbridge Realty was founded in Jacksonville in 1900 and operated by the Burbridge family for nearly 100 years. Molton Smith purchased the company in 1995.

Lifestyles Rental Services was founded by Sankar M. Thayver in 2011. The combined company will manage close to $100 million in assets and 600 rental units, according to Thayver.

Thayver said he will upgrade Burbridge’s website and marketing but will keep the name of the company the same.

Benjamin Burbridge was an influential Jacksonville resident at the turn of the century, who was involved in numerous real estate investments including construction of The Floridan Hotel in 1911.
