Keeping Kids Safe Online – Special Program at TrailMark

The Monique Burr Foundation for Children has teamed up with TrailMark to host a special program, “Keeping Kids Safe Online: It’s Public and Permanent!”

The event will take place on Thursday, Oct. 26, at the Trailmark Amenity Center. There will be refreshments and snacks at 5:30 p.m. followed by the program from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

The program will discuss what parents and families should know about online safety. Topics include cyber bullying and cruelty, social media dos and don’ts, online privacy and they myth of anonymity, digital footprint and legacy, inappropriate photos, testing and messaging and other cyber issues. The program is for parents and guardians. The content is not appropriate for children in grade 5 and under.

The program will feature nationally-renowned expert and author Richard Guerry, Founder of Institute for Responsible Online and Cellphone Communication and author of Public and Permanent, which is used by students, parents and teachers as a guide to digital citizenship.

Located at 805 TrailMark Drive in St. Augustine, the TrailMark community is off Pacetti Road and adjacent to the new Picolata Crossing Elementary School.
