Leadership Jacksonville, in partnership with Lindsey Films, received a silver award at the 35th Annual Telly Awards for a documentary on philanthropist and executive Robert Shircliff that aired as part of the organization’s Jacksonville Legacy Series.

The awards honor outstanding local, regional and national cable TV commercials and programs as well as the finest video and film productions, online commercials, video and films. Organizers received more than 12,000 entries from 50 states and numerous countries and recognized the Shircliff film in the documentary category.

“We are delighted to again receive this recognition for the Jacksonville Legacy Series, which allows local leaders to pass along their leadership legacy to future generations,” said Jill Langford Dame, executive director for Leadership Jacksonville. “While the content is most important, we want a quality production and this award confirms that we have succeeded.”

Last year, the Legacy Series’ episode on educator Fran Kinne won a bronze Telly Award for documentary excellence while the entire series was recognized with a bronze award in the educational programming category.

The Jacksonville Legacy Series, spearheaded by Leadership Jacksonville, showcases some of the region’s most prominent leaders of recent years. The winning entry was produced by Lindsey Films, owned by Kent and Pepper Lindsey, whose company also completed Legacy Series episodes on Frederick H. Schultz, Delores Barr Weaver and Alton Yates, with additional films in production. Episodes premiere on WJCT and are available on Leadership Jacksonville’s website.
