Current and Future Women Business Leaders Will Take Part in a Cross-Generational Discussion on Women and Entrepreneurship

Girl Scouts of Gateway Council, in partnership with the Johnson & Johnson Vision Care, Inc.’s Women’s Leadership Initiative, Jacksonville Women’s Leadership Forum, the Healthcare Business Women’s Association and Kappa Delta Sorority, is proud to announce She Started It, a film screening and multi-generational panel discussion on women and entrepreneurship.

The program, scheduled on Sunday, Nov. 19, from 2 to 4 p.m., at the University of North Florida Student Union, is open to the public.

“She Started It is an award-winning documentary that follows trailblazing young females through the ups and downs of entrepreneurship,” said Girl Scouts of Gateway Council CEO Mary Anne Jacobs. “Women in business face many challenges. We believe our program will encourage and inspire current and future entrepreneurs and business leaders.”

The event includes a film screening followed by a panel discussion and networking session. The program panelists, which include Jessica Bachansingh, Carlie Christenson and Lanette Hart, will discuss starting, growing and leading businesses.

As a Girl Scout, Jessica Bachansingh founded Gifts for Confidence, an ethical fashion nonprofit with a mission to empower girls globally by teaching them marketable skills that support sustainable livelihoods and communities. Bachansingh is currently a junior at Florida State University.

Carlie Christenson created her first product, Boob-eez, offering coverage solutions, at age 9 when she began feeling self-conscious about her developing body. Boob-eez is now a full line of undergarments and fashion-fix accessories. Christenson is currently a junior at the College of Charleston.

Lanette Hart, APR, CPRC, is the principal consultant and founder of Hart & Associates, LLC, providing corporate communications, public relations expertise and business management to private corporations and government agencies.

The cost to attend is $10 for program sponsor members, $20 for non-members. The program fee covers refreshments and parking.
