NEFBA Holiday Giving

December 21st, 2010 · Leave a Comment

The Northeast Florida Builders Association (NEFBA) participated in several holiday activities to support local charitable organizations this month. The NEFBA Sales and Marketing Council (SMC) sponsored a holiday auction to raise funds to provide gifts for local children and youth through daniel, and the NEFBA Clay Builder’s Council hosted its annual holiday basket giveaway to support the Green Cove Springs Food Pantry. Here’s what 2010 NEFBA President Andy Chambers had to say about the organization’s commitment to community service:

“Community service has always been central to NEFBA’s mission. During the holidays, it is particularly important to focus on the needs of children and families. The work being done through our individual councils to support the local community this year is truly outstanding.”

During the Dec. 10 monthly NEFBA SMC breakfast program at the UNF University Center, a holiday auction was held with items donated by members of SMC. Proceeds from the auction will be donated to daniel for the purchase of gifts for children and youth the organization serves. daniel is a nonprofit organization that has met the physical and emotional needs of children for more than 100 years. For information on daniel, visit www.danielkids.org.

The NEFBA Clay Builder’s Council recently held its annual Charity Golf Tournament. Each year, proceeds from the tournament are used to purchase food items for holiday gift baskets to support the Green Cove Food Pantry, which provides food to deserving families in Clay County. This year, food was purchased from Winn-Dixie and Builder’s First Source transported the items to St. Mary’s Episcopal Church.  Members of the NEFBA Clay Builder’s Council created holiday food baskets for families who were invited to participate in the giveaway by the Green Cove Springs Food Pantry. The preparation and giveaway will took place on Dec. 17 and 18.
