A new App, “DTJax,” has been created by Downtown Vision and is available free from both the Apple and Android stores. It will provide a Downtown business and events directory, directions, special offers and information.

The new app will appeal to a younger audience that wants a streamlined and user-friendly experience. The app also provides push notifications.

“There’s a whole group of people who have this sense of familiarity in using an app, especially when it’s free,” said Katherine Hardwick, director of marketing, Downtown Vision.

The app is constantly updated and opens the door for more partnerships with organizations putting on events Downtown. For example, the Sports Council plans to use the app to promote a parking pre-sale for U.S. Naval Academy versus Notre Dame football game.

“It’s really meant to make everything easier for people and try to help with the misconception that there’s nothing to do in Downtown,” Hardwick added.
