Support Girl Scouts of Gateway Council on GivingTuesday

November 27th, 2017 · Leave a Comment

Girl Scouts believe that when girls succeed so does society. The organization provides girls with a place to discover their passions, find their voice and make positive impact in their communities.

Join Girl Scouts of Gateway Council on Giving Tuesday, Nov. 28, to make sure every girl has access to all the life-changing opportunities available to her through Girl Scouts. Every dollar invested stays with Girl Scouts of Gateway Council to help build its nearly 10,000 local girls in grades K-12 into tomorrow’s leaders.

The leadership skills girls developed through Girl Scouts, such as problem solving and a willingness to seek and take on challenges, contribute to their academic engagement and achievement – the foundation they will need to build a better world. Girls who practice leadership like a Girl Scout are more likely to reach their full potential.

According to The Girl Scout Research Institute, Girl Scouts are more likely than non-Girl Scouts to:

  • Earn excellent grades
  • Desire a career in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math)
  • Have a strong sense of self
  • Seek challenges and learn from setbacks
  • Exhibit community problem-solving skills

So, the answer is clear. If we want more leaders—leaders who are prepared to practice grit, problem solving, risk-taking, and empathy—we need more Girl Scouts.

Every gift matters. Click here to show your support this #GivingTuesday for building girls of courage, confidence, and character.
