Jacksonville Joins Improving Housing Market List

Jacksonville appears on the National Association of Home Builders’ list of improving housing markets. The list now contains 76 improving markets, up from 41 in December, according to NAHB’s and First American’s Improving Markets Index. According to NAHB, Jacksonville is considered to be one of 76 cities showing signs of a rebound with their real estate market.

Every 10 years, the U.S. Census Bureau works to build an accurate count of the nation’s population, and the City of Jacksonville is partnering with the Bureau to increase local participation in this year’s count.

Census estimates show Jacksonville area gaining population

Jacksonville’s population has climbed to 40th place in the U.S. according to the recently released U.S. Census Bureau estimates.
Jacksonville’s population was 1,122,750 in 2000, ranking 45th, and that rose to 1,328,144 last year for 40th place.
