The Community Foundation for Northeast Florida Looking For Buyer After Former Jaguars Owners Weavers Give $4.7 Million Home to Charity

The Community Foundation for Northeast Florida is seeking a buyer of a luxury home after former Jacksonville Jaguars owners J. Wayne and Delores Weaver announced last week they gave their riverfront residence valued at $4.7 million to the foundation as a charitable donation.

Now, the Foundation is selling the 14,000-square foot home along the St. Johns River and proceeds will go into the Weaver Family Foundation Fund at The Community Foundation, to be used for grants to nonprofit organizations.

“This is a truly wonderful – and touching – example of the tremendous generosity of the Weavers, and showcases once again the Weavers’ commitment to use their philanthropy as a force multiplier to benefit Northeast Florida,” said Nina Waters, president of the Foundation.

The Weavers will continue their philanthropy by establishing a $1-million endowed donor-advised fund at the Foundation in the names of the buyers who purchase the property at the price offered, $4.7 million.

The home sits on a wooded estate of about four acres with 243 feet of frontage along the river in the San Jose area, not far from Downtown Jacksonville. It features a grand, two-story foyer with Italian marble, six bedrooms, six full baths, three powder rooms and a wooden walkway that leads to a boat dock and gazebo for enjoying amazing sunsets over a wide stretch of the river.

“This home holds a special place in our heart, as does Jacksonville,” said Delores Barr Weaver. “In giving this property to The Community Foundation, and hopefully establishing an endowed fund for the buyer, many deserving nonprofits and those they serve will benefit.”

The home is being offered through Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Florida Network Realty. Complete details of the donation, the advised fund and the home can be found at www.jaxcf.org/weaver-home .
