November 8th, 2017 · Leave a Comment

Each ticket sold results in $25 donation back to local organizations

THE PLAYERS Championship tournament officials announced recently that THE PLAYERS Chip in for Youth ticket program has launched. Through the program, any local youth-related charitable organizations or schools have the opportunity to promote the sale of a discounted, $50 Good-Any-One-Day ticket to THE PLAYERS 2018 (competition round tickets regularly start at $60). For each ticket sold, $25 will be directly donated back to the organization. The remaining net proceeds, after fees, will be donated to The First Tee, a nonprofit golf organization focused on teaching life skills through the game of golf.

“The Chip in for Youth program was created as an opportunity for charities in the five-county region to generate funds for their organizations,” said Jared Rice, executive director of THE PLAYERS Championship.  Since the inception of the program in 2011, hundreds of local charities and schools have utilized the program and have raised significant funds.   As an example, in 2011, the Ponte Vedra High School Booster Club has raised over $154,000 for their organization.  “In 2017, North Florida Junior Golf Association raised $42,600 through Chip in for Youth which included a $5,000 first place bonus for most tickets sold.”

New this year, THE PLAYERS has increased the bonus pool for the organizations which sells the most tickets, with a $10,000 bonus for first place and $5,000 for second-place.  To participate, youth-related organizations can register at www.chipinforyouth.com. This year’s program runs through April 27.

Volunteering at THE PLAYERS is a unique avenue for not only golf fans, but also those looking to support an event that gives millions of dollars back to the community, to become a part of the team that works tirelessly to make the tournament a showcase of excellence. New volunteer registration begins January 2, 2018.  Those that wish to apply to be a volunteer at THE PLAYERS this year, or that want more information, can visit THEPLAYERSvolunteers.com.

THE PLAYERS is set to return to THE PLAYERS Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass, May 8-13, 2018.  More information about THE PLAYERS is available at THEPLAYERS.com.
