Upcoming Northeast Florida Networking and Business Development Events

Looking to expand the reach of your business, meet like-minded professionals or stay up-to-date on the Jacksonville business pulse? Here are some upcoming networking and educational opportunities to check out!

Friday, Oct. 14 – The Northeast Florida Builders Association (NEFBA) will host its annual Charity Gala from 6:30 to 11 p.m. at Metropolitan Park in Jacksonville.  A portion of the event proceeds will benefit Builders Care, NEFBA’s charitable arm whose mission is to provide home improvements. Everyone is encouraged to dress for the country fair, the theme of this year’s gala. The cost is $100 per person and includes an all-evening open bar for soft drinks, beer and wine.  The purchase of a ticket includes an entry in this year’s Grand Prize Giveaway, an all-expenses-paid trip for two to the Country Music Association (CMA) Music Festival, which will be held in Nashville June 7-10, 2012.  For more information or to purchase tickets for the Charity Gala, contact Jamie Atkins at (904) 725-4355 or at [email protected].

Monday, Oct. 17Urban Land Institute (ULI) North Florida and the Rotary Club of Jacksonville will co-host a luncheon featuring guest speaker Maureen McAvey, executive vice president for the Initiatives Group at ULI headquarters in Washington, D.C. The program, “Moving Forward in this New Economy,” will be held at the Omni Hotel in Downtown Jacksonville from noon to 1:30 p.m. The event is open to the public and the cost to attend is $23. Thursday, Oct. 20 – The St. Johns County Chamber of Commerce will host its annual dinner at the Casa Monica in St. Augustine. A complimentary cocktail reception will begin at 6 p.m. and dinner is at 7 p.m. The Art of Business is the theme of this year’s annual dinner and the Chamber will present its Business Leadership Awards. There will also be a live auction and attendees will be entered into a prize drawing. Tickets to the event are $70 per person. A corporate table of 10 is available for $750.  Tickets may be purchased online at www.sjcchamber.com.

Friday, Oct. 28 – The 16th Annual Ruth’s Chris Steak House Florida-Georgia Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will be held at the Touchdown Showdown Tent in Pepsi Plaza (outside EverBank Field’s south end zone). The Jacksonville Sports and Entertainment Board will acknowledge the many great records, performances, career highlights and outstanding memories that have made the Florida-Georgia game one of college football’s great traditions. Featuring emcees Dan Hicken and Matt Robinson and guest speaker Mayor Alvin Brown, the event begins at noon and general admission is free and open to the public. Reserved seats are $50 and a corporate table (10 seats) is $500. For tickets, call the Jacksonville Sports and Entertainment Board (904) 630-3600.

Wednesday, Nov. 2Urban Land Institute (ULI) North Florida will present Emerging Trends in Real Estate 2012 featuring guest speaker Dean Schwanke at the Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront. Schwanke is the executive director for ULI Center for Capital Markets and Real Estate and senior vice president for the Urban Land Institute. The reception begins at 5 p.m., followed by dinner and the program from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tickets can be purchased online or by calling (904) 486-8256.

Thursday, Nov. 3 – Join Downtown Vision Inc. for the 11th annual meeting with featured speaker, Mayor Alvin Brown, at River City Brewing Company. Registration is from 7:30 to 8 a.m. and the meeting will be held from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Tickets are $20 and include full buffet breakfast. Seating is limited and registration will close Wednesday, Oct. 26 at midnight, so be sure to purchase your tickets early.
