We have great news to report from our friends over at Visit Jacksonville. The organization’s recent search has just ended. Daniel E. O’Byrne will be joining Visit Jacksonville’s team as the new president and CEO. Visit Jacksonville recently sent out a letter describing Dan’s upcoming responsibilities and his background. Here’s what they had to say.

Dan brings to Jacksonville 30 years of dedicated hotel and destination sales & marketing experience.  His depth of experience comes from his work with industry leaders such as: The Little Rock Convention & Visitors Bureau; Tishman Hotel Corporation; Westin Hotels & Resorts, and, as a meeting planner with Deloitte, Haskins & Sells.  He has substantial experience as a chief executive and as a vice president in both public and private sector organizations. 

 His education includes a Master’s Degree in Applied Economics from the University of Central Florida and a Bachelor’s Degree with distinction from Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration.

According to the letter, Dan is responsible for, among other duties, the creation and execution of a comprehensive destination marketing and operations plan.
