The tenth edition of Jacksonville’s Grooviest Home Tour is October 10-11, 2026, giving guests the opportunity to tour several historic and Mid-Century Modern gems, see cool classic cars and experience Arlington’s unique neighborhoods built in the 1950s, 60s and 70s.
The featured home is Geodesica, one of only nine Spindel round houses known to still exist in the United States. Designed for Leon Felhandler, a Jacksonville developer and builder, Geodesica was featured in the 1959 Parade of Homes. The home is completely circular with a rotunda room as the focal living space and all rooms feeding off and around this central space.
This year’s tour also includes a rare glimpse into one of Jacksonville’s most storied homes, the historic Sammis house which dates back to the 1850s.
The tour will kick off Saturday morning at 10 a.m. with a reading and book signing by Jacksonville author Tim Gilmore, featuring his new book, Memphis Wood and the Sanctified Fecund.
Known as “Jacksonville’s First Lady of Art,” one of Wood’s best-known works is her 22-foot-tall magnum opus, displayed in the Unitarian Universalist Church (UUC), a Mid-Century Modern masterpiece designed by Robert Broward, and the site of the book reading.
The Arlington Mod & More Home Tour is Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. Tickets are $25 (fees additional). Children under 12 are free.
Purchase tickets online then check-in at historic Norman Studios 6337 Arlington Road, to receive your tour book and directions. For those attending the book signing, tour check-in will be available at UUC beginning at 9:30 a.m.
Presented by the Northeast Florida Association of Realtors, all proceeds from the event benefit Old Arlington, Inc., the nonprofit organization committed to the historic preservation and revitalization of Arlington.
