Camellia at Deerwood, a senior lifestyle community located in Jacksonville, announced it will break ground on its new outdoor community amenities in January.

“We are thrilled to begin development of our heated, state-of-the-art saltwater pool and enhanced amenity area at Camellia at Deerwood,” said General Manager Perry Brown. “Swimming is a lifelong sport and our new outdoor pool will be a wonderful addition to the wide range of amenities and vibrant, active lifestyle we offer at Camellia at Deerwood.”

The project will include a 65-foot outdoor swimming pool, paver patio with outdoor seating and enhanced landscaping. The figure-8 style pool will feature beach entry access and generous bench seating around the pool for sunning and relaxation. The designer is 5 Star Outdoor Design, which specializes in custom pool designs and outdoor entertainment areas. The contractor is Kevin Carroll of Coastal Luxury Outdoors.

The new area will be used for many of the community’s social functions as well as aquatics programs for health and fitness, which is a major focus at Camellia at Deerwood. The community’s signature PrimeFit fitness program and PrimeFit gym is designed specifically for the community’s senior residents. The program offers all types of exercise including walking programs, recreational sports, low-impact aerobics and personal training. Additionally, Camellia at Deerwood residents enjoy numerous onsite amenities including restaurant-style dining, social and recreational programs and activities, wellness-focused services and transportation, among others.
