Gate Petroleum executive Misty Skipper will serve as the JAX Chamber’s 2025 chair-elect.

Skipper, Gate’s vice president, is chair of JAXUSA Partnership. She will lead the chamber’s 2025 leadership trip and will become chair in 2026. Ari Jolly is the 2024 chair-elect and will become chair in 2025.

“Misty has been an incredible ambassador for the Chamber and the business community, advocating for our region on economic development missions in London and serving as Chair of JAXUSA Partnership,” JAX Chamber President and CEO Daniel Davis said in the release. “She has served in so many important roles for the Chamber and understands our role in advocating for business-friendly policy that attracts investment and jobs to our city.”

Skipper has served in executive roles at Gate since 2016. She also spent five years with the Jacksonville-based Dalton advertising and communications agency.

She served as director of communications and press secretary for Mayor John Peyton from 2006-11, and before that worked in various communications roles for CSX.

Skipper has served on the chamber’s executive committee for the past three years, first as chair of the JAX Chamber Foundation. She also chaired the JAX Alliance and serves on JAXBIZ, the nonpartisan political committee affiliated with the chamber.

“I’m honored to serve as the 2026 chair of JAX Chamber as it provides an opportunity to empower our community, foster connections and drive economic growth throughout Northeast Florida,” she said.

The remainder of the JAX Chamber board of directors will be announced in early 2025.
