Through the partnership that Habitat for Humanity of Jacksonville (HabiJax) has developed with JPMorgan Chase & Co., the organization has been able to continue its efforts of revitalizing New Town, the area just west of downtown Jacksonville. These plans include building more than 100 brand new homes in the next three years. JPMorgan Chase & Co. recently presented HabiJax with a donation for $35,000 that will go toward building a home for another Jacksonville family.
“We are overwhelmed at the continued support that the employees of JPMorgan have shown us throughout the years,” said HabiJax President and CEO Mary Kay O’Rourke. “It’s a great feeling to know that local businesses and fellow Jacksonville residents are taking a stand to support the revitalization of New Town.”
Since 2000, JPMorgan Chase & Co. has donated more than $275,000 to the local non-profit and provided 114 volunteers who collectively contributed more than 900 hours of service.
Partnerships like the one with JPMorgan Chase & Co., have made it possible for HabiJax to provide homeownership to more than 1,900 families since 1988. Combined with its other homeownership services, including Critical Home Repair, A Brush with Kindness, Weatherization, Rehabilitation and Housing Counseling, HabiJax has served over 7,500 families.
