The PLAYERS Offers Opportunities to Meet and Mingle – Events on Wed., May 7

The PLAYERS Championship is  more than golf. It gives area businesses, charities and other organizations a chance to meet, mingle, and do a little business in a beautiful, relaxed setting.

Here is a list of tournament-related events you might want to attend on Wednesday, May 7 – Military Appreciation Day at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach:

  • Sergio Garcia visits McKenzie Noelle Wilson Foundation Kid Zone, 11 a.m. – PLAYERS 2008 champion Sergio Garcia will spend some time with approximately 120 kids in the McKenzie Noelle Wilson Foundation Kid Zone.
  • Birdies for the Brave® Patriots’ Outpost official opening, 11 – 11:30 a.m. – Throughout the week, all active-duty and Reserve military members, military retirees, and dependents will have access to the Birdies for the Brave Patriots’ Outpost, a hospitality tent reserved exclusively for the military which offers complimentary food, beverages and activities near the tee at No. 16.
  • Military Appreciation Day Ceremony and Jake Owen Performance, 5:30 p.m., Clubhouse Lawn – The 2014 Military Appreciation Day ceremony will include National Anthem by Preston Pohl, contestant, Season 5 of “The Voice;” Flyover by The Warbirds Flyover Team; dignitaries; and performance by country music star Jake Owen.
  • The Lot Party: Live at The Lot benefiting Corporate America Supports You, 5 – 10 p.m, (Outside Nicklaus Gate in General Parking off CR210.) – Funds raised from the event will help provide no-cost employment readiness, vocational training, and one-on-one job placement services for National Guard, Reserves, transitioning service members, veterans, military spouses, homeless female veterans, war wounded and caregivers of war wounded.
