2010 Designer Showhouse by Toll Brothers Presents Guest Speaker Series

April 26th, 2010 · 1 Comment

The 2010 Designer Showhouse by Toll Brothers has received rave reviews since opening earlier this month. If you haven’t gone, make your plans before it’s too late. The Designer Showhouse, which has been decorated by the area’s hottest designers and is the Jacksonville Symphony Guild’s largest fundraising event, is open to the public through May 9.

There’s a great learning opportunity offered during this event! The Guest Speaker Series takes place weekdays at 11 a.m. at the Residents’ Club at Coastal Oaks at Nocatee through Friday, May 7. The series offers a wide variety of topics led by distinguished professional speakers. This week’s schedule includes Leslie Pierpont discussing “Native and Uncommon Plants” on Tuesday and Neil Roberts of PRP Wines discussing “The Five S’s of Wine Tasting” on Wednesday. Other upcoming topics include cooking for two and container gardening.

Admission to one Guest Speaker Series lecture is included with a tour of the Designer Showhouse. An unlimited return pass to attend additional lectures is available for $5 at the Designer Showhouse Retail Boutique. The boutique is located within the Designer Showhouse and features unique gift items and home accessories presented by The Wardroom Ltd.

Designer Nights and Thirsty Thursdays are the other special events taking place as part of the Designer Showhouse. Designer Nights offers the chance to meet the designers and decorators who worked on this year’s Showhouse. The design team will provide personalized tours of their spaces every Thursday from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

In addition to the home tour, Showhouse guests are also welcome to stop by the magnificent Toll Brothers’ Residents’ Club at Coastal Oaks at Nocatee and enjoy Thirsty Thursday, a complimentary wine tasting, from 5 to 7 p.m. The Residents’ Club is located at 600 Bluewater Drive within Coastal Oaks at Nocatee. Both events will end on Thursday, May 6.

Tickets to visit the Designer Showhouse are available to purchase at the door for $20. Tickets may also be purchased online at www.jaxsymphony.org or by calling the Guild office at (904) 358-1479. For more information, visit www.jacksonville.com/showhouse.
