Mayo Clinic Contributes to Region’s Growing Life Sciences Industry

Area leaders toured a world-class institution and one of the JAX Region’s greatest assets, Mayo Clinic Jacksonville. Mayo Clinic Hospital provides a 214-bed facility with 16 operating rooms, transplant and epilepsy units, and advanced cardiac and neurosurgery facilities. The organization recently announced an $80 million expansion project that will add two floors and 90 beds to its hospital. The hospital expansion project will also add approximately 400 new jobs at Mayo and 250 construction jobs. As part of the #ilovejax campaign, the JAX Chamber is featuring the positive attributes located in the seven-county region by hosting tours.
