The RiverTown Community Hosts 5K Run to Benefit San Juan del Rio Elementary School

The RiverTown community hosted a 5K run to benefit San Juan del Rio Catholic School, an elementary school located near the RiverTown community, St. Johns County’s only riverfront master-planned community. The 5K event raised approximately $5,000 for the school.

JAX Chamber 128th Annual Meeting Set for Jan. 24 at Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville

Mark your calendars for Thursday, Jan. 24. That’s when the JAX Chamber will play ball, recognizing community business leaders and celebrating the region’s home runs of 2012 when it hosts its 128th Annual Meeting, from 6 to 9 p.m., at the home of the Jacksonville Suns, the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville in Downtown Jacksonville. More than 1,000 Chamber members and guests are expected to attend the fun-filled, baseball-themed event, which will feature food, networking and the naming of the 2013 JAX Chamber Small Business Leader of the Year. The Chamber will also introduce the Chamber’s 2013 Board of Directors during the annual meeting. The 2013 Chamber Chair is Greg Smith of Bank of America Merrill Lynch.

Remodelers Council Honors Industry’s Best

The Remodelers Council of the Northeast Florida Builders Association (NEFBA) recently hosted the First Coast Remodelers Awards. More than 135 members and guests attended the “red carpet’” event that included food, entertainment and awards honoring the industry’s best in Northeast Florida. The Remodelers of the Year award was presented to Tom Trout, Sr. and Tom Trout II of Tom Trout Custom Builders and Remodelers, which has served the Northeast Florida community for more than 50 years.

Call for Entries Issued for Laurel Awards

The Northeast Florida Builders Association (NEFBA) and its Sales and Marketing Council (SMC) have issued a Call for Entries for the 2012 Laurel Awards. A wide range of awards will be presented in the categories of marketing, design and individual excellence. Winners will be honored at the Laurel Awards celebration on Friday, Feb. 22, at Cascades at World Golf Village. The event opens with networking at 6:30 p.m. followed by the awards program from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tickets to the Laurel Awards event are $30 per person.
