Jacksonville professionals Jayne and David Jett enjoy visiting the Riverside Arts Market (RAM) on Saturdays. RAM is just minutes from their home at The John Gorrie a condominium

After more than five years of renting, Jacksonville professionals Jayne and David Jett are enjoying their new home at The John Gorrie a condominium. The couple relocated to Jacksonville in 2008, and rented in several areas including San Marco, Riverside, Downtown Jacksonville and Tapestry Park before they decided to buy. The Jetts are very happy with their decision to purchase at The John Gorrie.

“When it came time to look for a place to buy, we knew we really enjoyed the Riverside area because it is so unique,” said David Jett. “We were looking to purchase a condominium, but they all felt like apartments. The John Gorrie is different. It has so much character and doesn’t feel like every other place. It’s a community you can call home.”

The Jetts are busy professionals who work many hours. David is a business development manager and Jayne is a human resources director. In their free time, they enjoy entertaining family and friends at their home or venturing out into the Riverside Avondale neighborhood, a pedestrian-friendly, walkable area with an eclectic mix of restaurants and shops.

“We really enjoy our walks and investigating the restaurants in the area, such as 13 Gypsies,” Jett said. “The King Street District (home to Carmine’s Pie House, The Blind Fig and Kickbacks Gastropub, among others) is such a lively area as well, and every Saturday we visit the Riverside Arts Market, which is such a great venue.”

Having previously lived in Riverside, the Jetts were familiar with The John Gorrie a condominium and had passed by its buildings several times. However, they did not realize all the community had to offer until they viewed a YouTube video on the condominium’s website, www.TheJohnGorrie.com.

“The history of our community and its rich architectural heritage is fascinating,” Jett said. “Once I saw the video, I knew we had to learn more.”

The Jetts purchased a one-bedroom, one-bath residence at The John Gorrie. One of Jacksonville’s most architecturally compelling projects, The John Gorrie a condominium offers studios, one- and two-bedroom residences and two-story townhomes priced from the low $100,000s.
