Ameris Bank Kicks-Off 10th Annual Helping Fight Hunger Initiative

October 7th, 2019 · Leave a Comment

Hunger and food insecurities are serious problems affecting millions of Americans each year. During its October Helping Fight Hunger campaign, all Ameris Bank locations, divisions, customers and community partners come together for one common cause: collecting as many nonperishable food items as possible for those in need.

A food bank in every town with an Ameris Bank location will receive the donation of goods collected at the local Ameris Bank office, and a monetary donation from Ameris Bancorp will be split between the top 25 Ameris Bank locations that collect the most nonperishable food items. For the 10th annual Helping Fight Hunger Initiative, Ameris’ goal is to raise 2 million food items throughout October.

Since the inception of Ameris Bank’s Helping Fight Hunger initiative in 2010, Ameris Bank has made a significant impact in the fight against hunger, collecting nearly 6.3 million food items. Additionally, more than $800,000 has been donated to 90 partner food bank organizations.

Ameris Bank strongly believes in being active participants in its communities and in the power of giving back. A collection box will be inside each Ameris Bank location where customers, employees and community members can participate by dropping off nonperishable food items during the month of October.
