Anniversaries Mark Time

December 3rd, 2016 · Leave a Comment

Anniversaries mark time.
Antiques embody history.

And these two, anniversaries and antiques, are inextricably linked as things to be celebrated.

They give us a unique opportunity to look back and judge how far we’ve come, collectively share in commemoration of milestones and encourage us to forge on in our efforts.

Upon this special 40th Anniversary of the Art & Antiques Show, we are grateful for those antiques dealers who have spent so much time with us and to those who are joining us for the first time. We pray that the history we make together is one of devoted service to such a special place, Wolfson Children’s Hospital.

Celebrating its 38th year at the Art & Antiques Show is Whitehall Antiques from Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Whitehall Antiques, opened in 1930,  is known as one of the finest shops in the South, featuring over 8,000 square feet of showroom space that is filled with a comprehensive and exquisitely curated collection.

Owner David Lindquist and his daughter Elizabeth have a special connection with The Women’s Board. Mr. Lindquist said, “Whitehall Antiques has been there each year since the 2nd year of the Show. The first Show we ever did was so fun, getting to know people such as Mrs. Cavert and her sister, Berrylin Houston, who bought a big breakfront from me. Every time we see each other, she reminds me that she bought it from me.  It is relationships like this that keep us returning year after year.”

Brill’s Antiques (Newport News, VA), La Poma & La Poma (Franklin, NC  & Winter Park, FL), and Really Good Prints (Hilton Head, SC) are all celebrating over 25 years at the Show.

Davis-O’Reilly Antiques will be here for it’s 23rd time and Sherwood Antiques marks it 20th year at the Show. Michael Weaver Fine Silver (18 years), Dana Kelly Oriental Rugs (15 years) and McDonough Fine Art (13 years) are all celebrating more than a decade with us.

We welcome you to walk the Show, ask questions at the dealers’ booths, and perhaps invest in some items with enduring value. We are grateful for our dealers and the relationships that have been forged over these many years.

It’s a history of inspiring service and investing in the future… our children.
