Aphora at Marina San Pablo, the ultra-luxury condominium tower being constructed on the Intracoastal Waterway near J. Turner Butler Boulevard, will redefine waterfront living and offer one of the most luxurious condominium experiences available in Florida.

The community’s developer, Bove LLC and Remi Properties, has partnered with Group 4 Design, a full-service, nationally known Jacksonville-based design firm, to provide the community’s architecture, interior design, landscape architecture and site planning. Group 4 Design has unveiled its plans, showcasing a British West Indies style for Aphora’s luxurious exterior and interior spaces.

We sat down with Karie L. Kovacocy, LEED AP, Assoc. AIA, Architectural Design Principal, Group 4 Design, Inc. to discuss Aphora’s design and how it influences the condominium’s lifestyle.

Question: What is the design direction and inspiration for Aphora?

Answer: We started with the location and surrounding landscape. The property is home to the Marina San Pablo Yacht Club, which was recently renovated by Group 4 Design and now houses the Sales Gallery for Aphora at Marina San Pablo, which will be near the existing Marina San Pablo condominium. Aphora’s design aligns with its beautiful views of the marina and Intracoastal Waterway, reflecting a contemporary coastal vernacular style with a Floridian/Caribbean/British West Indies influence. Aphora’s color palette includes bright whites with darker browns and greys.

Question: How does Aphora’s design resonate with the Aphora lifestyle?

Answer: Aphora offers a very appealing location that is close to the beach, championship golf and resort living yet convenient to more urban pleasures including the St. Johns Town Center, Downtown Jacksonville and the Jacksonville International Airport. Because of its location, Aphora appeals to a variety of buyers ranging from entrepreneurs, executives and early retirees. Aesthetically, we did not want the design to appear too dated or trendy. Instead, we wanted to engage the entire spectrum of buyers with a sophisticated architectural and interior design style. The community’s public spaces and amenities will exude timeless design and modern elegance, combining classic materials, clean lines and luxurious, high-end finishes. Every home will offer bright, airy rooms featuring high ceilings, stunning fireplaces, grand designer bathrooms and gourmet chef’s kitchens. In addition, homeowners will have the opportunity to customize their homes with selections from numerous options.

Question: What sets Aphora apart from other Northeast Florida condominiums or communities?

Answer: Aphora represents the next generation of condominium living in Jacksonville. The level and grade of finish planned for Aphora has not been done anywhere else in our market. With floor plans ranging from 2,500 square feet to 5,200 square feet, each condominium residence will offer the size, features and finishes that are typically found in a luxury custom home. Many buyers who currently live in master-planned communities, such as Marsh Landing or Queen’s Harbour, want the same style and quality of a home without all of the responsibilities. This exceptional lifestyle is waiting for them at Aphora.
