Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Florida Network Realty continues its long-standing tradition of giving back to the community and helping others during the holiday season.

“As 2016 comes to a close, we recognize we have enjoyed tremendous success this past year, and we are so thankful for the abundant blessings we have received,” said Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Florida Network Realty Founder, President and CEO Linda Sherrer. “We love that the holiday season provides unique opportunities to share holiday cheer and make a positive difference in the lives of many local children and families. Our firm is committed to giving back to the communities in which we live and work.”

The Northeast Florida real estate firm actively contributes to charitable efforts and philanthropic giving all year long, including a partnership with Dreams Come True and the company’s annual Backpack Challenge, collecting hundreds of backpacks filled with school supplies for local children. During the holidays, the spirit of giving is evident as each of the company’s branch office donates time, talent and financial sponsorships to many community initiatives.

Atlantic Beach/Intracoastal West/Southside office – Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Florida Network Realty is proud to present the inaugural Atlantic Beach Luminaria on Sunday, Dec. 11, beginning at dusk. Modeled after the popular luminaria in Riverside Avondale, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices is starting the same tradition in Atlantic Beach and plans to expand to neighboring Beaches communities in the coming years. Official Luminaria kits are available for $5 from the company’s Atlantic Beach office, located at 375 Atlantic Blvd. Luminaria kit proceeds will be donated to Boy Scout Troop 15 supporting My Brother’s Keeper and the Beaches Town Center Agency.

Home office – The team at the company’s home office is supporting Holiday Helpers of Jacksonville, a non-profit organization committed to making the holidays special for Northeast Florida children who are affected by HIV and other childhood diseases. Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices is sharing the holiday love and joy by purchasing wish list gift items for a girl, age 6, and boy, age 12.

Fleming Island/Orange Park office – Each year the associates adopt a family during the holidays, providing gifts for the children and food for their holiday meals. Also, the office is collecting donations for Toys for Tots.

Mandarin/St. Johns office – Associates in the Mandarin office provide a holiday feast for the local Fire Department members and collect food and donations for the Mandarin Food Bank. Agents also plan to cook and serve a meal at Gabriel House. Located on the Mayo Clinic Florida campus, Gabriel House provides lodging for cancer and organ transplant patients 18 years and older and their caregivers who travel to Jacksonville for medical care.

Metro Jacksonville/San Marco/San Jose office – The Metropolitan office collects food and supplies for local food banks during the holidays and throughout the year. The office is purchasing toys and gifts for 35 children supported by Holiday Helpers. Associates support and participate in several community holiday celebrations including Christmas in Avondale, Holiday Magic in San Marco and the Riverside Avondale Luminaria.

Ponte Vedra/Nocatee office – The Ponte Vedra office is hosting an appreciation luncheon honoring first responders and emergency service personnel who served during Hurricane Matthew. Associates are supporting and donating to Toys for Tots and hosting a Photos with Santa event.

St. Augustine office – The St. Augustine office is joining Landon Homes in collecting warm clothing for the area’s homeless veterans through its Project Thank You campaign. Also, the company’s Realtors are supporting Pie in the Sky in Hastings and the St. Francis House. Both organizations provide food, emergency services and resources to those in need.

These activities and others like them throughout the year reflect the true collective heart of the team at Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Florida Network Realty.

“The holiday season serves as an important reminder of just how blessed we are, and our support of charitable initiatives reflects the true meaning of the season,” said Broker/Executive Vice President Christy Budnick. “From hosting a community event, donating to a charity or participating in a food or toy drive, these are all ways that a small contribution of your time and effort will create a positive impact in others’ lives and in your community.”

“We appreciate the support of our customers in these endeavors and we encourage everyone to join us.” Budnick added. “Never underestimate the power of giving. You never know how you can change someone’s life.”
