Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Florida Network Realty recently received the 2017 Partners in Philanthropy award from the Jacksonville Business Journal. The award, presented to local businesses, demonstrates the Northeast Florida real estate firm’s culture of giving and commitment to charities and philanthropic enterprises in the community.

“Our company is committed to giving back to the communities in which we live and work,” said Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Florida Network Realty Founder, President and CEO Linda Sherrer. “Our team culture supports making a positive difference in others’ lives. We devote time and financial resources to a wide variety of charities with an emphasis on those that benefit local children and families.”

For four years, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Florida Network Realty has supported Dreams Come True, Northeast Florida’s only locally based nonprofit dedicated to using the power of a dream to bring hope and joy to local children battling life-threatening illnesses. To date, the company has donated more than $170,000 to Dreams Come True by contributing a portion of the proceeds from every completed home sale.

Another firm-wide commitment that the team rallies behind is the annual Backpack Challenge. In 2017, the firm’s 18th Annual Backpack Challenge collected 1,151 backpacks filled with school supplies for Northeast Florida children. Agents in the company’s nine branch offices also support numerous nonprofit and community initiatives through volunteerism, board service, donations and sponsorships. The initiatives include schools, churches, food banks, professional associations, health and human services organizations, community events and more.

“Our company has a long-standing tradition of giving back to the community and helping others,” said Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Florida Network Realty Broker/Executive Vice President Christy Budnick. “We recognize our tremendous success and we are grateful for the trust the community has in our firm and agents. There is nothing more satisfying than the gift of giving back to our community and as a team we grow closer together each time we give to others.”
