Camellia at Deerwood Residents Enjoy Five-Star Fun, Numerous Social Programs and Activities

Camellia at Deerwood residents recently took a trip back in time and celebrated in colorful style during two of the dozens of special events offered at Jacksonville’s premier senior lifestyle community.

“Camellia at Deerwood residents enjoy an exciting retirement lifestyle defined by our signature brand of five-star services that includes a thriving resort-style environment and a full calendar of social, fun and meaningful programs and activities,” said Camellia at Deerwood General Manager Perry Brown. “Our residents adore our numerous onsite amenities including restaurant-style dining, a PrimeFitSM fitness center, transportation and more. This is the best retirement living has to offer.”

Residents recently toured the Beaches Museum and History Center in Jacksonville Beach. The museum features exhibits and displays that bring the rich history of the Beaches communities to life. The tour included a stop at Pablo Station on the museum’s grounds where Engine No. 7, a 25-ton 1911 steam locomotive is stored. Following the tour, the group from Camellia at Deerwood enjoyed a warm welcome and lunch at Beachside Market in Jacksonville Beach.

Camellia at Deerwood residents celebrated Wear Something Gaudy Day, an obscure national holiday that dates back to the hit 1970s television comedy show, “Three’s Company.” The residents at Camellia at Deerwood ignored fashion and style as they dressed in their wildest and wacky attire.

“Our residents are welcome to take part in as many activities and outings as they wish,” Brown said. “Every day brings a new adventure and there is no shortage of fun and laughter at Camellia at Deerwood.”
