Campbell Appointed to THE PLAYERS Leadership Team as Vice Chair

July 5th, 2013 · Leave a Comment

Adam Campbell, a 27-year Jacksonville resident and active member of the community, has been appointed as the newest “Blue Coat” for THE PLAYERS Championship. Campbell joins the four existing vice chairs who, along with 2014 Tournament Chairman Andy Baggs, lead the 2,200-plus volunteer force that make the tournament possible.

The volunteer leadership for THE PLAYERS 2014 includes: Chairman Andy Baggs; First Vice Chair Brian Franco; and Vice Chairs Michele McManamon, Kevin English, Damon Olinto and Adam Campbell.

Campbell currently serves as senior vice president, investments at The Sextant Wealth Advisory Group of Raymond James & Associates and is also a member of the firm’s President’s Council. Campbell is a wealth management specialist, and focuses on financial planning, wealth transfer and retirement planning. Prior to that, Campbell spent 16 years with Smith Barney as a financial advisor and was a member of the company’s Century Council, a recognition granted to the top 30 percent of all advisors in the firm.

Campbell graduated from the University of North Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Finance.  He now belongs to the University Club’s Board of Governors and Young Executive Board. The Young Executive Board has raised more than $200,000 for local charities since launching in 2008.

For the past 14 years, Campbell has been volunteering at THE PLAYERS.  He has served as chairman or assistant chairman for several committees, including: Benefactor Hospitality; Childcare; Course Ecology; Patriots’ Outpost; Stadium Village; Standard Bearers; VIP Parking and Volunteer Shuttle. Campbell also donates his time to the local YMCA chapters and their numerous fundraisers.

A new Blue Coat is named each year as the most recent Tournament Chairman joins the “Red Coats.”  Red Coats are past PLAYERS chairmen who continue to support the event through volunteering each year for the tournament, continued support of area charities and serving as a face of the event in the community.  They also serve as stewards of the volunteer leadership by selecting the newest Blue Coat each year.
