Catch Up with Choi’s Bois at THE PLAYERS

May 2nd, 2012 · Leave a Comment

Last year, when K.J. Choi became the first Asian player to win THE PLAYERS Championship, six self-proclaimed “good ole boys” from Tennessee were cheering louder than any other fans at TPC Sawgrass, in matching black t-shirts emblazoned with the words, “Choi’s Bois.” This year, the Bois are back in town to experience a bit of the celebrity spotlight themselves.

Choi will unveil his champion’s portrait next Tuesday on the second floor of the clubhouse, and Choi’s Bois will be there for the festivities (they changed their flights from Nashville in order to arrive early enough to attend).

Brad Page, Bo Page, David Clayton, Curtis Gribble and Alex Kirkland say they were impressed by how friendly Choi was toward the crowd when they attended the 2010 event, so in 2011, the Nashville residents returned to TPC Sawgrass– this time with black “Choi’s Bois” t-shirts – and followed Choi every step of the way. And they weren’t disappointed, as Choi defeated David Toms in a sudden-death playoff for the biggest win of his career.

After the Closing Ceremonies, Choi invited the Bois onto the green for a photo with him and the trophy, and Choi has stayed in touch with his mini-fan club ever since.

Join Choi and his Bois on Tuesday, May 8 at 2:30 p.m. to celebrate last year’s win and the fans who make THE PLAYERS possible.
