THE PLAYERS Championship is no stranger to change this year! Here’s a quick update on just a few new venues and changes you’ll see at the tournament.

JELD-WEN Stadium Village

The new JELD-WEN Stadium Village is much like the Stadium Village that fans are accustomed to however, it is now enclosed and air-conditioned. This area features several new fan enhancements, including a ball-fitting and custom door-fitting exhibit, courtesy of JELD-WEN’s “Perfect Fit” program, as well as the PwC First Tee Challenge, a scaled version of the famous 17^th hole, where fans can see just how difficult it is to reach the green. Also in the Stadium Village is the Stadium Snapshot where fans have the opportunity to have their photo taken in front of a green screen depicting the 17^th hole.

Cell Phone Usage

The new mobile device policy put in place by the PGA TOUR this year will allow fans to bring cell phones into the tournament. Phones must be on silent at all times and there will be designated “Mobile Talk Locations” throughout the golf course for taking and placing calls. These locations will be at the JELD-WEN Stadium Village, The Terrace, The Patio, The Grove and food court, concession areas at No. 2, 5, 12, 9/18 and P2, all merchandise tents and inside all private and hospitality venues.

Executive Women’s Day

The first ever Executive Women’s Day at THE PLAYERS will take place Monday, May 9, at the TPC Sawgrass Clubhouse and is already sold out. Approximately 240 women business leaders from the local community will participate. The day will kick off with “The Power Broker’s Breakfast” at 7:30 a.m. followed by an “Inside the Ropes 101” informative, behind-the-scenes tour of THE PLAYERS. The tour will be followed up by a luncheon featuring guest speaker Contessa Brewer, MSNBC’s prime-time news anchor. The day will wrap-up with “Wine Down and Network Up” where attendees are encourages to make new friends and business contacts.
