Clerk’s Office Announces Passport Fair

The Duval County Clerk of Courts announces it will hold a passport fair on Saturday, March 23, at the Duval County Courthouse, located at 501 W. Adams St. The event, which will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., will allow citizens interested in applying for a passport to do so outside the Clerk’s Office regular weekday business hours.

No appointments are necessary and all area residents are invited to attend. Street parking is free in downtown Jacksonville on the weekend and there is ample parking on the streets surrounding the Courthouse.

Since becoming a passport acceptance facility in 2016, the Clerk’s Office has processed over 22,000 applications at the Duval County Courthouse and the Clerk’s beaches branch in Atlantic Beach.

“Offering convenient options for customers to apply for passports has been a priority since our office first began offering this service,” Clerk Ronnie Fussell said. “We are pleased to host this passport fair to give folks who may find it difficult to visit us during the week an opportunity to apply for their passports.”

In order to successfully apply for a passport, all applicants are asked to bring:

  • Completed Application completed in black ink only (Form DS-11)
  • Proof of Citizenship
    • Certified copy of birth certificate (must include parents’ full names)
    • Certificate of naturalization (if applicable)
    • Applicants must also provide a black and white photocopy of proof of citizenship\
  • Proof of Identity (one of the following):
    • Valid driver’s license
    • State identification card
    • Applicants must also provide a black and white photocopy of proof of identity
  • Passport Photo
    • Recent color photo (background must be completely white)
    • Front view – eyeglasses must be removed
    • 2 inches by 2 inches in size

As part of the process, fees are paid to both the Clerk’s Office and the Department of State. Two separate forms of payment are required. Please note the different forms of payments accepted by each agency. There is a $35.00 Execution Fee payable to the Duval County Clerk of Court that can be paid bycash, credit card, money order, or certified check. No personal checks. Fees payable to the U.S. Department of State must be paid by personal check or money order. No cash or credit card payments.
