Community First Credit Union Employees Collect Pet Food For Shelter Animals

June 26th, 2013 · Leave a Comment

Paul Ray, Mike Tomko, Toni Ledford and Donald Jackson load a truck with pet food donations recently collected by Community First Credit Union employees for the City of Jacksonville Animal Care and Protective Services

When Mike Tomko, resident animal lover and Senior Vice President of Operations at Community First Credit Union, recently learned the City of Jacksonville Animal Care and Protective Services was severely low on food, he sent out a plea to Community First employees at the company’s headquarters in downtown to bring in dry dog and cat food to donate to the shelter. Fellow employees responded by collecting more than 75 bags of food in less than a week.

“This is a great example of why Community First has been selected as one of the Best Places to Work in Jacksonville,” said Tomko. “Employees are encouraged to get involved in the community and support one another’s passions and causes. Collecting pet food is just one of the many ways that Community First employees give back, and we are sure our furry friends at the shelter appreciate the kindness!”

Want to help, too? Animal Care and Protective Services is always in need of supplies. But the best way to help is to adopt!
