Community First Credit Union Helping to Collect Schools Supplies For Kids in Need

Community First Credit Union, a state-chartered credit union serving the First Coast, has partnered with First Coast News WTLV/WJXX, for “Stuff The Bus,” the station’s annual school supply drive.  Community First proudly joins Publix Super Markets, The Salvation Army, The United Way of Northeast Florida and Duval County Full Service Schools to support  this important initiative helping  kids in need.

Special “Stuff the Bus” barrels are in place at area Publix Super Markets and Community First Credit Union locations, ready for school supply donations. The barrels will be in place through Monday, Aug. 6.

The following items are always much-needed:

  • Pencils, Pens, Crayons, Markers, Highlighters, Erasers
  • Loose Leaf Paper, Spiral Notebooks, Composition Books
  • Folders, 3-ring Binders
  • Calculators, Rulers, Compasses
  • Glue Sticks or Bottles
  • 3×5 Index Cards, Graph Paper

Distribution in Duval and Clay counties is set for Thursday, Aug. 16 at 9 a.m. Families in need of supplies may apply to participate in the Stuff the Bus program by contacting their local Salvation Army. The deadline to apply in Duval County is July 27.

Companies or corporations wishing to host a drive to collect supplies may call The Salvation Army’s Holly Harmon at (904) 301-4785. Those who would like to help sort supplies for donation may call the Salvation Army’s Clanky Hires at (904) 301-4846.
