November 16th, 2012 · Leave a Comment

Riverside Arts Market (RAM) and Community First Credit Union (Community First) encourage Northeast Florida residents to support the local economy by making a commitment to shop small this holiday season. On Saturday, Nov. 24, RAM will host Small Business Saturday, presented by Community First, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. under the canopy of the Fuller Warren Bridge. With nearly 150 artists, craftsmen and food merchants participating each week, RAM is the perfect place for holiday shoppers to find a variety of locally owned and operated small businesses in a single venue.

“One of the most important ways for our community to give back this holiday season is by supporting local small businesses, which play a critical role in the sustainability of our economy,” said John Hirabayashi, president and CEO of Community First. “We are pleased to show our appreciation for small businesses by sponsoring events like Small Business Saturday at RAM, as well as offering very affordable small business banking solutions at Community First.”

In addition to the multitude of gift ideas offered by RAM vendors, shoppers can also take advantage of gift-wrapping stations, with proceeds supporting RAM and select non-profit community partners. A variety of dining options, live entertainment on the River Stage and street performers throughout the Market complete the festive experience visitors will find at North Florida’s largest open air market.

“RAM is pleased to offer a venue for small businesses to sell their products throughout the year, but Small Business Saturday serves as a reminder that we must support those who help support our economy,” said Krysten Bennett, director of Riverside Arts Market. “We hope shoppers will join us on Nov. 24 as we celebrate the holiday season with some of Northeast Florida’s best food, entertainment and unique gifts.”
