Company Executives Talk About Why They Love JAX

March 13th, 2012 · Leave a Comment

Recruiting ability, unique location, business environment and quality of life – these are some of the reasons company executives have chosen Jacksonville as a location for their businesses.

The business leaders recently shared their thoughts with some of the nation’s most influential site selection consultants who attended JAXUSA Partnership’s Site Selection Showcase.

Site selection consultants are responsible for evaluating cities for company relocation and expansion plans. This event, held every two years, is one of the many ways JAXUSA Partnership markets the region.

George Scanlon of Fidelity National Financial (FNF) spoke about the company’s move to Jacksonville in 2003. FNF has since spun off two companies – FIS and LPS – which combined have created more jobs locally than any other employer in the last decade.

Industry videos are another tool used to showcase JAX. The latest video about the information technology industry includes executives in the respective industry sharing their experiences and reasons they selected the Jacksonville region to move or locate.

In addition to marketing the region to the world, the videos also help inform residents about the region’s strengths and highlight the many reasons to love JAX, which is the goal of the recently-created #ilovejax campaign.

“We find Jacksonville to be a very progressive and innovative city. We love it here,” said Russ Thomas, president and CEO of Availity who is featured in the video. “The reason we are able to be successful as a company is because we can attract great technology talent. From that perspective, it is important to be in a market where talent wants to live.”
