July 24th, 2012 · Leave a Comment

August will be here before you know it and so will the deadline for the Urban Land Institute (ULI) North Florida inaugural Awards for Excellence for development projects from across North Florida. Nominations are due by August 30, 2012. The awards program is the centerpiece of ULI’s efforts in North Florida to identify and promote best practices in all types of real estate development. The awards are divided in four categories: Private Sector, Public Sector/Open Space/Non-Profits, Downtown and Visionary Leader, each with individual requirements.

The awards recognize the full development process of a project, including: planning, construction, economic viability and management as well as design. All real estate developments and programs from North Florida are eligible for submission, including the areas of Jacksonville, St. Augustine, Pensacola and Gainesville. The awards program is open to the public, and self-nominations are welcome. An entry fee must accompany each project submitted; $500 – Private Sector and $200 – Public Sector/Open Space/ Non-Profit.

Chairing the 2012 Awards for Excellence is Ginny Myrick of Myrick Policy Group, Inc., a ULI member since 2006. Award winners will be recognized on Thursday, Oct. 4 at the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) in downtown Jacksonville.
