The Sarasota Herald-Tribune has reported that Florida hopes to bring in $100 billion in tourism funds by 2020.

The Sept. 1 article states:

“The influx will come from the experience rather than filling more hotel beds. Florida currently sees about $82 in spending, said Will Seccombe, CEO of Visit Florida, the state’s tourism marketing agency. The new strategy, announced at the Florida Governor’s Conference on Tourism in Tampa on Tuesday, is less about bringing in more bodies and more about tapping into consumer markets that want to spend dollars in the state.”
