December 14th, 2022 · Leave a Comment

The Florida Forum Speaker Series, presented by The Women’s Board of Wolfson Children’s Hospital, will welcome American track and field athlete and entrepreneur Allyson Felix on Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2023. The program begins at 7 p.m. at the Center for the Performing Arts in Jacksonville.

One of the most decorated track and field athletes in history, Felix has achieved 11 Olympic medals (seven gold) and 18 world championship medals, including 13 gold, surpassing Usain Bolt’s record 12 gold medals. Her accomplishments solidify her as one of the greatest female athletes the world has ever seen.

Felix is also making a name for herself as a powerful voice and advocate for women and mothers in sports. She left her high-profile Nike sponsorship in 2017 over what she felt was a lack of maternity protections. Felix took home her 13th world championship gold in fall 2019 after giving birth to her daughter in 2018. Felix is now applying her advocacy and passion to her newly launched shoe company, Saysh. Felix is included on Inc.’s Female Founders 100 list. TIME Magazine named Felix as one of its 100 Most Influential People of 2020 and 2021.

Presented by The Women’s Board, the Florida Forum raises awareness and funds for Wolfson Children’s Hospital of Jacksonville, supporting its mission to provide the highest quality of advanced pediatric healthcare regardless of ability to pay. The series is made possible by long-time partners and generous sponsors Wells Fargo, Florida Blue and Landstar.

Since 1992, the Florida Forum has been honored to host renowned speakers from around the world offering profound insights and discussions on a broad range of issues. In addition to enriching Jacksonville’s intellectual and cultural life, the Florida Forum has contributed more than $9.2 million to Wolfson Children’s Hospital of Jacksonville.
