Florida Senate President Mike Haridopolos Talks Business at St. Johns County Chamber of Commerce Membership Breakfast

August 3rd, 2011 · Leave a Comment

Florida Senate President Mike Haridopolos recently spoke at the St. Johns County Chamber of Commerce’s membership breakfast event. Haridopolos, whose district includes parts of Indian River and St. Lucie counties, recapped the 2011 legislative session during the address, detailed major reforms and discussed why they needed to balance the state’s budget without raising taxes.

“We successfully pushed the Tallahassee solution by cutting and capping government spending while balancing our budget without new taxes or fees. We also cut $309 million in taxes on small business and homeowners,” Haridopolos said. “These measures will provide stability, predictability and certainty for businesses looking to grow and expand, while equally providing an incentive for out-of-state businesses to relocate to a business-friendly Florida.”

Haridopolos wants prosperity for Floridians, a goal echoed by leaders of the St. Johns County Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber concentrates its efforts on continuously improving the local business environment, resulting in a better quality of life for the current business community and making it attractive for new businesses to locate to St. Johns County.
