October 22nd, 2010 · Leave a Comment

Football is not the only thing going on downtown during the upcoming Florida vs. Georgia weekend. On Oct. 29, The City of Jacksonville is hosting the Gridiron Get Down featuring national recording artists Jake Owen and Uncle Kracker as well as regional performers Fusebox Funk and Drummer vs. DJ featuring the Red Jumpsuit Apparatus’ Jon Wilkes and DJ Capone.

The concert will begin at 5 p.m. in Pepsi Plaza located outside the south end zone of EverBank Field and will end at 1 a.m. Limited bleacher seating will be available but it’s a good idea to bring blankets and lawn chairs for lawn seating. In addition to live music, there will be a mechanical bull, Air Guard challenges, specialty vendors and more. Admission is free and food and beverages will be for sale.

Here’s a preview of the featured music artists:

RCA Nashville recording artist Jake Owen has celebrated five consecutive hit singles as well as nominations for a CMA Award, a GRAMMY Award and was named top new male vocalist at the Academy of County Music Awards.

Uncle Kraker’s most acclaimed song “Drift Away,” a cover version of Dobie Gray’s, reached number 10 on the Billboard’s Hot 100 and set a record for most weeks at Number 1 on the Adult Contemporary chart, remaining there for 22 weeks. Most recently, Uncle Kraker released “Smile”, an upbeat single from his newest album “Happy Hour”.

Come out next weekend and join in the fun of Florida vs. Georgia while listening to some great music and enjoying the other entertainment! For more information visit Make a Scene Downtown.
