Great Special Events in Jacksonville!

If you live in Jacksonville, there is no reason to be bored! There are numerous special events coming up that you won’t want to miss!

Saturday, April 24 – The second Starry Nights at Metropolitan Park featuring Tony Award-winning artist Idina Menzel accompanied by the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra. Get your tickets here before the concert sells out!

Saturday, April 24 – Sunday, April 25 – The Beaches Sandcastle Contest & Parade will kick off the official opening of the beaches! The sandcastle contest will offer prizes in several categories. The lively parade will march through the streets of Jacksonville Beach on Sunday.

April 27 – Calling all music lovers! Elvis Costello, one of the most innovative, influential and best songwriters to emerge since Bob Dylan, will perform at the Florida Theatre in downtown Jacksonville. Two days later, on April 29, musician Ben Harper will take the stage, and two days after that, on May 1, Flogging Molly will perform Celtic rock! There’s something for every music taste.

April 30 – May 2 – There’s no better way to enjoy Northeast Florida’s freshest seafood than the Isle of Eight Flags Shrimp Festival! This unique, annual celebration includes pirate invasions, a juried arts show, kids’ activities, craft and antique booths, and tasty seafood delights! The festival will take place in historic downtown Fernandina Beach.

April 30 – May 2 – Each spring, Jacksonville celebrates its cultural diversity with the World of Nations Celebration. Presented by the City of Jacksonville, Metropolitan Park will be transformed into a multi-ethnic marketplace of cuisine, crafts and entertainment of cultures from around the world. With more than 30 countries represented, the festival provides a unique look into cultures from around the globe.

May 3 – 9THE PLAYERS Championship! One of golf’s biggest events is played at the famed Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach. The lush, green rolling hills and steep inclines offer spectacular views of each hole, but the course is best known for its signature hole, the par-3, 132-yard 17th “Island Green” hole, one of golf’s most recognizable and difficult. The tournament will begin with practice rounds on Monday. On Wednesday, three-time Grammy Award-winning country music artist Tim McGraw will make a special musical appearance during Military Appreciation Day. On Thursday, the competition heats up as Round 1 of tournament play begins. Who will take home the crystal trophy?
