HabiJax Announces Brenda Talbert-Thomas as Development Director

Habitat for Humanity of Jacksonville (HabiJax) recently hired Brenda Talbert-Thomas as Development Director for the organization. At HabiJax, Thomas will maintain a proactive, creative leadership role in the identification and cultivation of individual and corporate donors and in the development of revenue targets and goals.

“We are so pleased to have Brenda on board at HabiJax,” said HabiJax President and CEO Mary Kay O’Rourke. “Her background in the homebuilding and mortgage industries and experience in relationship-building bring wonderful credentials to the position. She is also an excellent communicator and committed to our mission. We look forward to our sponsors, donors, volunteers and the community getting to know Brenda.”

Before coming to HabiJax, Thomas managed home builder associations in Bradenton, Boynton Beach and Naples. She also served as owner and CEO of America Promotional Products, LLC in Naples, a company that develops brand and marketing campaigns for companies and non-profits, and as a publisher with Diversified Publishing. She previously worked in the mortgage industry for SunTrust Bank and Bank of America.

Thomas brings to the position extensive experience in the non-profit sector and in marketing and development, as well as strong financial management and fundraising skills. Her leadership roles in the community have included involvement in the Greater Naples Chamber of Commerce, the Naples Area Board of Realtors, the National Association of Business Women and serving as a board member of the CBIA Foundation. Thomas holds a bachelor’s degree in Human Resource and Development from Oakland University in Rochester, Mich.
