HabiJax Announces New Members and Officers for 2013-2014 Board of Directors

Habitat for Humanity of Jacksonville (HabiJax) has named four new members to its Board of Directors. The board currently has 26 members who are tasked with promoting the mission and vision of HabiJax – to build and renovate high-quality affordable housing and advocate of behalf of those in need and to serve as a partner and catalyst to create safe and sustainable communities. They also act in a governance role for the organization.

New board members for 2013-2014 year include:

  • Travis Pinckney, Professional School Counselor with Andrew Jackson High School
  • Robert Dilts, Senior Vice President/Senior Banker with JP Morgan Chase
  • Autumn Berrang, Vice President of Client Services for Burdette Ketchum
  • Brandon T. McCray, Assistant Vice President for Development and Planned Giving for the University of North Florida.

The board also elected officers for the 2013-2014 year:

  • Greg Matovina ­– Board Chairman
  • Jane McFarland Upton ­– Vice Chairman
  • A. Hamilton Cooke – Secretary
  • Jim Milligan – Treasurer

“We have an incredibly dedicated Board of Directors from fields such as real estate, finance, marketing, the building industry, transportation, law, healthcare and education. We are honored to announce four new members who are equally proficient in their own fields and passionate about the cause of affordable housing,” said HabiJax President and CEO Mary Kay O’Rourke. “Our success in the community would not be possible without the Board’s support and commitment.”

Greg Matovina has been on the HabiJax Board of Directors for 11 years and offers tremendous support to the non-profit organization.

HabiJax has provided homeownership to more than 1,900 families since 1988. Combined with its other homeownership services, including Critical Home Repair, A Brush with Kindness, Weatherization, Rehabilitation and Housing Counseling, HabiJax has served more than 8,500 families.
